“Before debarking at La Roqueta, we got to see La Virgen under the water through the glass bottom and also the older version which now sits on a rock above water and then we saw a diver feed lots of colourful fish via his mouth! … The commentary on the yacht itself was a laugh and overall we really enjoyed ourselves... give it a try!”
Heather L, Scotland · TripAdvisor
“There are rock formations, their own cliff divers, unsurpassed scenery and at one point, they uncovered the glass bottom so you can see divers feeding tropical fish … The captain was in no hurry and I believe he was enjoying showing us a memorable experience. That, it was.”

Frequently asked questions about the La Roqueta Island tours

Where do I board the boat to La Roqueta Island?

We leave from the Parque de la Reina pier, in front of the Fuerte de San Diego, on the Costera Miguel Alemán (map: yatesdinka.com/go/mapa). From there we sail across the bay past the celebrity homes, Punta Elefante and the Submerged Virgin of Guadalupe Sanctuary before reaching the island. We do not depart from Caleta or Caletilla: ours is a glass-bottom yacht tour that starts at Parque de la Reina.

How long is the La Roqueta Island tour?

The Traditional Tour lasts about 1 hour. The Traditional + Snorkel Tour lasts from 1 hour 50 minutes and includes 45 minutes of guided snorkeling. Boats leave every hour; please arrive 20 minutes early.

Can I book online, and how much do I save?

Yes. At yatesdinka.com you book and pay online with the early-booking price: $210 MXN for the Traditional Tour ($300 at the ticket office) and $400 MXN for Traditional + Snorkel ($550 at the ticket office). You get your confirmation by WhatsApp or email. You can also message or call us at +52 744 187 3434.

Do I need to know how to swim for the tour or the snorkeling?

No. The Traditional Tour does not include snorkeling and every passenger wears a life jacket. Snorkeling is guided by an instructor, with life jacket and equipment included, so you do not need to be a swimmer. The minimum age for snorkeling is 7 years old.

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

We sail in light rain. The tour is only suspended if the Port Captaincy closes navigation, and in that case we reschedule your trip at no cost; your ticket never expires. If the Captaincy closes the port and you prefer not to reschedule, you can ask for a full refund.

Are there restrooms during the trip?

The only restrooms are on La Roqueta Island. There are none on the yachts or at the pier, so we suggest using one before boarding if you need it.

Can children come? Do they pay?

Yes, it is a family tour. On the Traditional Tour children aged 3 or under are free (up to 2 per paying adult); from age 4 they pay a ticket. Every passenger wears a life jacket and has traveler insurance. For snorkeling the minimum age is 7.

Where can I park and how much is it?

At the Parque de la Reina parking lot, which costs $50 MXN for the whole day (charged by ASIPONA, not by Yates Dinka).

What is the difference between the Traditional Tour and Traditional + Snorkel?

The Traditional Tour (about 1 hour) includes the glass-bottom yacht ride, the celebrity homes, Punta Elefante and its cliff-diving show, fish feeding, the Submerged Virgin of Guadalupe Sanctuary and an optional stay on the island. Traditional + Snorkel adds 45 minutes of guided snorkeling at the island with an instructor, equipment and life jacket, and lasts from 1 hour 50 minutes. Snorkeling is never sold on its own and the last departure with snorkeling is at 2:00 PM.

How late can I stay on the island?

You can stay on the island at no extra cost and return on any later yacht; the last return is at 5:00 pm.
